Dancing diamond, 2021
I made a video to explain the actual situation of buying bags in the store at that time, which can also explain the background of the previous work of this project:
"After a long wait, a sales person finally noticed me. However, a large store does not mean a complete range of goods. I asked about the four iconic monogram bags randomly, but none of them were available. The reply was that this series of goods is too popular and has been in short supply for a long time, and the staff do not know when they will be restocked.
Each 'out of stock and popular' phrase pushes the diamonds farther out through the sound vibrations, scattering them and disappearing into the frame.
I Built an installation that transmits sound and uses it as a stage that can hold diamonds and manure. Diamonds can easily be scattered on a table, making it a more manoeuvrable object. The vibration of the sound connects the diamond to the fertilizer. Making the picture closer to the landscape.
I'm fascinated by the vibration of sound itself, I observe it, I let it point the way, I explore the boundaries between nature and man made, I draw inspiration from nature and then work with other forms of knowledge, I try to create a transformation, a kind of poetic suspense. I mentioned the idea of consumption concept around the work in the way that diamond is fused with fertilizer through sound vibration. This is a video in which the audience needs to listen to the dialogue in the recording and watch the diamond dance. There is a feeling of 'dual landscape'. At the end of the work, there may be some regrets, such as the disintegration of diamonds and unclear answers. Hopefully these puzzles will continue the search for possession of things."
